All parking meters are in effect from 11:00 am to 9:00 pm Monday through Saturday.
The cost for the meters is $0.75 per hour.
The muni-meters accept nickels, dimes, quarters, and dollar bills as well as debit and credit cards (with the exception of American Express). The muni-meters issue a receipt for the time you have allotted. The receipt must be displayed on your dashboard so it is clearly visible to parking enforcement personnel.
Alternate side of the street parking is in effect seven (7) days a week throughout the year, even during snow emergencies, unless otherwise posted. Alternate side parking is a system in place by which cars are prohibited from parking on one side of the street between 3:00am and 6:00am, usually to allow street cleaners to sweep. For example, signs on one side of the street might say “No parking – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 3am-6am” while signs on the opposite side will say “ No parking-Monday, Wednesday and Friday 3am-6am. Note that you are likely to get a parking ticket if you ignore these signs.
Parking permits are available to both residents and nonresidents in three locations throughout the Village which are listed as follows:
Catherine Street parking lot (opposite Wachovia Bank) is available at a cost of $30.00 per month.
Spear Street parking lot (just East of Piermont Ave, near the marina) is available at a cost of $10.00 per month.
The Municipal Parking Lot (located on Main Street by The Riverspace Theater) contains an 8 hour section in the far Southeast area, and is available at a cost of $50.00 per month.
Nyack Resident Only Parking Permit (with proof of residency) is available at a cost of $25.00 per year in the large Municipal Parking Lot. This would allow a resident to park in that lot during the 3-6am overnight hours. This permit does not allow the holder to ignore the metered parking rules.
For additional information regarding parking rules and regulations, see the Zoning and Code of the Village of Nyack, Chapter 55 (Vehicle and Traffic) and Chapter 59 (Zoning).
