Bill Schmidt moved to Nyack in 2012 from Manhattan with his wife and two children, he currently resides in the Village of Upper Nyack. He graduated from SUNY Empire State in 2002 with a degree in Sustainable Development and took a job with the City of New York Dept. of Parks’ and Recreation soon after graduation. In 2007, he transferred to the Parks’ tree planting division under the MillionTrees NYC program.
Bill has planted thousands of NYC trees in streets and parks through the program and has developed and implemented a community forestry project for western Queens. He is also a certified arborist and an avid gardener.
