Bob is a professional planner with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning from Hunter College. He is also a certified city planner with an AICP designation. Bob has over twenty-five years of experience in urban planning practices and demographic and retail database information. In addition to holding senior level management positions with a number of Fortune 500 information companies, Bob has been extensively involved in planning and housing in the Village of Mamaroneck and Westchester County.
Bob is a member of the American Planning Association’s Metro Chapter, the Urban Land Institute, and a director of the Westchester Municipal Planning Federation, the New York Planning Federation and several non-profit housing organizations. He has recently consulted with his own firm, Monarch Planning Group, and Urbanomics, a NYC planning/research firm, specializing in economic and demographic forecasting and market feasibility analyses for NYC, other major governmental entities and private developers.
His planning experience has been in consulting, site planning, demographic analysis, inclusionary zoning, land use/zoning, and market analysis for housing, main street and retail projects. Additionally, for over 25 years, he has been a member and chairman of the Village of Mamaroneck Planning Board. During this time, he directed the Village’s first comprehensive plan as well as the recent 2025 update, the master plan for the 46 acre Harbor Island Park, downtown streetscape, infill housing, local waterfront revitalization and workforce housing. As a director of a local economic development corporation, Bob was also instrumental in the financing and construction of the $19 million, 114-unit Regatta Condominiums, a linchpin in Mamaroneck’s downtown revitalization efforts.
The Village of Nyack created the Village Planner position and hired Bob on September 27, 2012
