Chrissy Place is a resident of Upper Nyack, NY where she lives with her husband and three children. After graduating from The University of Connecticut with a Bachelor’s degree in Business, and with a focus study in Corporate and Organizational Studies she pursued a career in finance. She worked at UBS Investment Bank in Stamford, CT for 10 years in both the U.S. and U.K. Tax Operations division. She held positions in risk control, data management, information reporting, tax withholding and project management. In 2013 Chrissy decided to leave her position as the U.S. Head of Tax Operations at UBS to raise her young family and to become more involved within her community.
Already an avid gardener and an outdoors enthusiast, Chrissy completed her training through Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Rockland County to become a Master Gardener Volunteer. Through her role with CCE, Chrissy has become an active member of the school garden network, has volunteered with the NY and NJ Trail Conference for Invasive Species surveying in Rockland County and spends time educating the public at local farmers markets on gardening topics and composting. Formerly an appointed member of the Nyack Parks Commission, she is currently a board member of the Nyack Park Conservancy. Chrissy is also a member of the PTA at Upper Nyack Elementary School where she is the chair of the PTA sponsored Science and Outdoor Learning (SOL) committee.
