On May 21, 2010, the Village of Nyack Board of Trustees appointed James C. Politi to the newly created office of Village Administrator. The Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village. This position is new to the Village, and is known as the Council/Manger format of government. It is also the first in Rockland County.

Jim comes to Nyack with over 20 years of public administration experience in Hudson Valley communities. Spending his first 10 years as a Public Works Supervisor, and 11 years as a Village Manager. He earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree from SUNY New Paltz, and completed his graduate studies in Public Administration at the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy at SUNY Albany.

Jim is a member of the International City Managers Association and the New York State City / County Management Association. He also serves in the New York State Guard.
