PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that sealed proposals will be received by the Village of Nyack, Village Hall located at 9 North Broadway, Nyack, New York on or before Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM prevailing time, at such time they will be opened and read aloud. Each bid shall be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly stating the contractor name and address and the project name on the exterior of the envelope entitled:


The scope of work for the Base Bid of this project will include the construction of a new Redi- Rock (or approved equal) gravity wall system,  to replace the existing wall that has failed during a prior storm event. Included in the scope of work is the removal and disposal of  the existing damaged  fence and existing retaining wall of varying height and construction of a Redi-Rock (or approved equal) gravity retaining wall system approximately (45) forty five  feet in length or 270 SF. Also included within the scope of work for this project is the construction of (35) thirty five LF of concrete vertical curb, (25) twenty five  LF of concrete curb wall varying in height up to (2) two feet, (105) one hundred five  LF of (8) eight feet in height board on board  fence,  backfill, compaction, site restoration on the adjoining residential property, full depth pavement repair of the DPW yard drive  and other associated work for a complete project as shown on the plans.


The Contract Documents may be examined and copies obtained at the Office of the Village Clerk during usual business hours. Copies of the Contract Documents may be obtained upon payment of a non-refundable fee in the amount of seventy five ($75) dollars for each set. Checks shall be made payable to the Village of Nyack.


Each proposal shall be accompanied by a certified check, or bid bond executed by a surety company, in the amount of not less than (10) percent of the proposal, conditioned that if the proposal is accepted, the bidder will enter into a contract for the work and that he will execute such further security as may be required for the faithful performance of the Contract.


Funding for this project comes in part from FEMA thus all federal requirements shall be met.


All bids must meet the requirements of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, US Department of Housing and Urban Development,  FEMA  and all other applicable federal, state and local statutes. The lowest qualified bidder meeting the requirements of the Contract Documents will be awarded the bid. The Village Board reserves the right to accept or reject any or all portions of the proposal, and to readvertise for same, as may be in the best interests of the Village. The Village also reserves the right to reject any proposal that is informal, or waive any informality in the bidding document.
