Thank you, all Nyack residents and visitors, for working together to get through our first storm of the season. It turned out to be a bit more of an adventure than we planned, but what a beautiful day it is today!
A few notes on snow cleanup. DPW and our Village Administrator, Jim Politi, worked tirelessly through the last two nights to make sure that a majority of streets are passable. If you see them out there, make sure to say thank you. It’s hard work and they do it so well, smiling most of the time.
They will begin clearing the Village parking lots late tonight at 3:30 am after they’ve gotten a bit of sleep. I know it seems like an absurd time to do it but we want to have them cleared so that, tomorrow, folks in snow emergency zones will have somewhere to park while we move snow out of our the more congested neighborhoods. Check the signage on your block for more specific instructions regarding whether you need to move your car during the process. Village lots will be free until the snow emergency is lifted. As soon as your neighborhood is cleared, you are free to move your car back to the street.
Let us know if you see something that needs to be dealt with (http://nyack-ny.gov/repair-me/) And go throw some snowballs. Thank you, again, for all your helpfulness, patience and enthusiasm during the storm. What a great village we have!
