Village Power Outage

There is a large tree down on power lines on Depew Avenue at the entrance to Memorial Park.  The tree has caused power outages in the south western portion of the Village, from Main St to the South Nyack border as well as taking out all traffic lights on Broadway.  Orange and Rockland is on the scene, Orangetown Police Department is directing traffic and power will be restored as soon as Orange and Rockland completes the necessary work.  We ask that you avoid South Broadway and Piermont Ave until the problem is solved.  We will update you as soon as a timeline is confirmed by Orange and Rockland but the public outage map is indicating a restoration time of12pm.  Residents can also check the outage map for updates.  (http://www.oru.com/energyandsafety/storms/abouttheoutagemap.html)

Prayer Vigil for Charleston — Sunday 6/21 at 6pm

The Village of Nyack mourns the loss of those kind residents of Charleston, South Carolina.  We send our community thoughts and prayers to their families and friends and we urge an end to senseless violence.

On Sunday, June 21, at 6pm, the Rockland County Ministers Alliance will be hosting a Prayer Vigil at the First Baptist Church of Spring Valley.

They will gather and pray for our fellow brethren who lost their lives over due to racist behavior of one bigoted individual who is now behind bars.  They ask that we come together and pray for our nation, our state, and our communities of faith.
