To all Nyack Businesses and Residents:
The Nyack Water Department has repaired a major water main break and restored water to almost all of it’s 15,000 customers. Crews worked throught the night and most service was restored at four am with the exception of fifty homes in the North Greenbush Road area of West Nyack near the water main break site who will remain without water until further repairs are made.
The boil water alert remains in effect until further notice.
**Boiled water should be used for drinking, washing of fruits and vegetables, food prep, beverages, infant formula and pet feeding. It is not necessary to boil water for bathing or clothes washing. A boil water alert is a standard requirement when water system pressure is significantly reduced. People should continue to boil water until further notice.
Water customers may continue to experience periods of low pressure or discolored water.
